Supply & Fit For As Little As £99
As much as there are tyres that are made specifically for a trailers and caravans, caravan tyres do tend to use tyres that are made for cars or small vans but it is important to get the right one.
Each caravan tyre has to support the caravans weight and on a single axle 1 tyre has to deal with half of the caravans weight. This tends to be more than a quarter of the weight of a typical car.
This makes it important to get the right tyre for your caravan based on the caravans make, model and weight.
Here at Grantham’s we take away all the hassle of trying to find out what tyre is right for you, and we supply and fit tyres for as little as £99 a tyre.
Unlike many tyre traders out there, all of our tyre fitters are qualified and trained by the AWS approved workshop standards, providing peace of mind that you’re in safe hands.
Book your caravan with us and we can also provide a same day service if you do wish to contact us to to see when we can fit this in for you.
Caravans tend to do fairly low mileage. On average they do around 1,500 miles a year, although this is dependant on the owner and how many holidays they go on. So, it does take some years before you see the tyres tread start wear down.
Although there are other situations where you may find yourself changing the tyres.
Over time your caravan tyres may deteriorate due to their age. The BTMA (British Tyre Manufacturers' Association) recommends that caravan tyres should be replaced every 5 years and should never be used if they are over 7 years old.
When the tyre tread is close to the legal limit of 1.6mm
When you leave a caravan for long periods of time stood still, the tyres can start to crack due to the continuous weight pressing down on the tyre. Keep any eye out for any cracks if you haven't towed it for a while.
Another more obvious reason to change the tyre is if it is punctured, or damaged due to blistering, ruptured or been penetrated by an object.
We provide an AWS approved caravan service and repair workshop.
All of our engineers are fully trained and qualified to the approved standards and with over 50 years combined experience we provide peace of mind that your caravan is in safe hands.

We are an NCC Approved Workshop, meaning we can service your caravan or motorhome whilst it's still under manufacturer’s warranty.
We can offer same day tyre fitting however, you must book in first as we may not have the caravan tyres on-site that fit your requirements. So we may need to order your tyres first and book you in for a date to come in and get them fitted the same day.
Alternatively, you can just drop the caravan off with us and collect it at a suitable day for you.
The recommended minimum PSI on a caravan tyre is 35psi. However, to find the optimal caravan pressure for your caravan and the tyre you can look at the tyres placard or alternatively check the caravans handbook.
The BTMA (British Tyre Manufacturers’ Association) recommends that caravan tyres should be replaced every 5 years and should never be used if they are over 7 years old. You can check the age of the caravans tyre by looking at the wall of the tyre. It should specify the month and year with a 4 digits (1119). The first 2 digits resembles the month (November) and the last 2 digits resembles the year (2019).
Exactly like a car tyre, a caravan tyres tread must be 1.6mm as a minimum around the circumference of the tyre.
Many people believe that it is a legal requirement to change your tyres every 5-7 years but this is just a recommendation to limit the chances of blow outs.
No, although just like car tyres it is important to get the right type of tyre for your caravan. The main consideration is having tyres that can withstand the strain that a caravan tyre is under with the weight of the caravan.
Our caravan tyres cost £68 excluding VAT for supply, fit and disposal of your existing tyres.
